Bag Style Release

Bag Style came out about a month or so ago, and I apologize for dropping the ball on Celebrating it! Whoo Hoo- Totally Awesome- Can't believe it! Okay back to work....

Not to be annoyingly repetitive -but I'm buried under tons of design work, and can't wait for the day to be able to share it!

Other than knitting every free moment I can muster, I've been working a lot, and recently helped my beloved mentor/friend Leigh Radford -on a photo shoot for a HUGE project she is working on. You're gonna love it, but my lips are sealed.

The Section Down to Earth was photographed and styled well.

Woodland Connection Bag Corrections

This is my worst fear. You design and knit, you work hard on writing your patterns, and then you sell them to wonderful stores, and later You find a Problem. Not just a typo, but something that changes the whole shape of the project.
My stomach churns.
I worked at a yarn store for 2 years, and helped customers and students through faulty patterns, while both of us cursed it the whole time.

And now, I must apologize for some blatant and extremely bad pattern writing. The Lovely Woodland Connection Bag has some problems, (I just had some wonderful ladies in this class)
First and foremost is the fact that in the pattern, after the initial increases, I fail to mention that you must work 17 rows in St St before you begin your Decreases. And if you had the help of a knowledgeable knitter, you could probably get through the button hole cables on the flap. But their were many random miscounted sts.

So I apologize, and have rewritten it, with all the problems in check. I do not want to put out an irresponsible product, and am very sorry if I have caused any one to throw down their work, and curse my name!

Brooklyn Cap in Interweave Knits and My "bit" on HGTV's "That's Clever!"

The Interweave Knits Summer 2006 Issue is in full circulation...Lint and I received it the same day. I couldn't be more excited that they included my blog address in the little profile sentence at the bottom of the page.

I also wanted to announce a little "bit" I did for the show "That's Clever!" on HGTV a few weeks ago! It's a show that features different Artists(?) from all over the Country. It's filmed in your workspace while you create something "clever". Then they edit it like crazy, and speed you up like a cartoon. My project was the Chianti Tweed Felted Hat (photo below)

There are going to be around 18 artists (?) from Portland that will be featured on the show! ...Lovin Portland......

Felt Clutch and Shoulder Flap Woodland Connection Bag Class

What?!!!
They are Two new patterns I have recently designed for Two new classes that will be on the next Lint Schedule! Not due out until the Middle of March,
But Hey! I can't wait for that! The Clutch is a great Beginning Class (this one is embellished with a cable, but not a requirement) , and the Flap Bag with chain handle is definitely for Intermediate Knitters!
Either learn the fun of Handsewing a zipper,
Or playing with pliers, and installing a little hardware!
I've discovered so many new sources for chain in Portland, I can't stand it!

Patterns for Felt Hat and Barbeque

Recently I've received some interest in my Felted Hat Patterns and Barbeque Patterns. My Felted Hat Pattern will be published in the Summer Issue of Interweave knits Magazine coming out in Mayish?

And as for the Barbeque, as of now neither Emily or I, or any of the other ladies at Lint that participated in our delicious display has written out any of the patterns we designed. That does not mean that it will not happen in the future, we just have not found a proper venue to distribute or represent all of our ideas , as far as food preparation goes.

The Simple Style of the One by One Rib

Oh, Another little hat pattern I've written up for my beginners. Really It's just an example of what your choices are when it comes to Hat Design.

It's the closest it gets to looking machine made, you know like the hats you see in department stores. People love the way theylook, but it is a labor of love. Knit Purl Knit Purl....and on and on.

My Beginning Knitting Classes at Lint. We recommend using Lamb's Pride for the first three weeks, while the students learn all the technical stuff.

And For the Last three weeks everyone picks out Their first project!!! Pattern, Needles and Yarn.
